We are seeing a full-time reliable, detail-oriented Powder Shop Lead join our Powder division on 3^rd shift.

The Powder Coater Lead is responsible for overseeing daily powder coating operations, ensuring high‑quality finishes, leading team members, and maintaining a safe and efficient workflow. This role combines hands‑on powder coating work with leadership responsibilities to support workflow, training, and continuous improvement. Bring your expertise to drive excellence and inspire your team to succeed. The Powder Coater Lead will report to the Powder Division Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Previous experience in powder coating preferred
• Support day-to-day powder shop performance
• Knowledgeable in daily powder coating operations including surface preparation, application processes, curing, packaging, and material handling.
• Ensure all coatings meet internal quality standards and customer requirements
• Strong leadership skills with previous supervisory or team lead roles and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Lead and supervise a team, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality workmanship across all projects
• Coordinate project schedules, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines
• Prepare surfaces through masking, sanding, and other prep work to ensure optimal paint adhesion
• Work with other departments as needed
• Attend daily production meetings and follow daily production schedule
• Work closely with Powder Division Manager
• Assist Manager with disciplinary actions as needed
• This position safeguards Colonial’s information network with user access privileges.
• Any other duties assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate leadership ability preferred
• Strong knowledge of powder coating materials, pretreatment processes, application equipment, and curing systems.
• Ability to read job travelers, work instructions, and quality specifications
• Commitment to company safety, quality, and continuous improvements
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to lift-up to 50 pounds
• Must be 18 years of age or older
